OREANDA-NEWS North Korean beer will be brought to Russia. About this, with reference to the documents posted in the Rosaccreditation file, writes RBC Wine.

The country's first permit for the import of beer from the DPRK was issued to the Vostokbirtrade company from Komsomolsk-on-Amur, registered in June 2024. According to the document, the country will be able to supply light filtered beer under the trademarks XINBALU 1999 and Harbin Station from the manufacturer Heilongjiang Quanrun Beer Co. At the same time, the issued declaration allows you to import products repeatedly.

According to Igor Khavsky, member of the board of Opora Russia, head of the working group of the expert council of Rosalkogoltabakcontrol for brewing and low—alcohol products, beer from North Korea is "a very niche product." Such a drink may be in demand in the Far Eastern region, where beer from Asia has already been sold, or in Korean restaurants. An interesting price offer may also be of interest to the Russian consumer, the expert believes.

The Daily NK edition notes that for the DPRK, beer supplies abroad have become one of the ways to obtain currency. Thus, in July, the Kyonghung Unhasu plant received a government order to expand exports by diversifying beer products and increasing production. In addition, the North Korean authorities have instructed to sell beer for export at prices lower than inside the country.

Earlier it became known that Russian distributors, due to reductions in the supply of beverages from unfriendly countries, began to import beer from Asia more actively. Thus, alcohol importers have already applied to the Federal Accreditation Service with a request to allow the import of additional beer from Vietnam. Tiger, Saigon Lager, Saigon Gold, Saigon 333 and Bia Lac Viet brands may appear on domestic shelves both in ordinary glass and PET bottles and in kegs.
