Mobile traffic in Russia in 2022 increased by 20%

OREANDA-NEWS The volume of mobile Internet traffic used by Russians in 2022 increased by 20% compared to the previous year. This is reported by the agency "Prime", referring to the words of the head of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation Maksut Shadaev.
"Traffic is still growing. Maybe not at the same pace as it grew in the covid year ... last year mobile traffic grew by 20%," Shadaev said, speaking at the conference "Telecom in search of a way out: challenges and Prospects" organized by Vedomosti.
The head of the Ministry of Finance also commented on the speed of mobile Internet in Russia. According to him, in order to increase it, telecommunications companies need to expand their infrastructure.
"Frankly speaking, according to the average speed of the mobile Internet, we already do not look super attractive in all international ratings," the minister said.
Previously, "Gazeta.Ru" wrote that the Ministry of Finance plans to submit a bill to the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the adoption of which will allow Russians to install applications from third-party sources on Apple smartphones and tablets.
