OREANDA-NEWS  The Lenta hypermarket will start processing packaging through an Electronic Trading Platform (ETP). The fact that the company has decided to become more environmentally friendly is reported on the website of the Russian Environmental Operator (REO).

Lenta plans to order waste disposal services from steel, polyethylene terephthalate, polypropylene, boxes and boxes made of corrugated paper or cardboard, paper bags and bags, as well as green glass through ETP. In this way, the company will be able to comply with recycling regulations under the Extended Manufacturer's Responsibility (EPR).

The ETP was launched by REO in 2022. It allows companies to sell and buy recyclables and order packaging recycling services. At the moment, more than three thousand users are registered on it. They placed about 1.2 thousand lots worth over three billion rubles on the site.

Earlier, REO announced the imminent issuance of the first green bonds in 2024.
