OREANDA-NEWS. The Krasnodar Territory intends to start supplying wines to the Scandinavian countries in 2022. This was stated by the head of the project "Export brand of Russian wine" Pavel Mayorov.

The Krasnodar Territory, or Kuban, is the leading region of the viticulture and wine industry in Russia (30% of Russian grape areas), supplies wine to 20 countries.

Wine supplies will be made from the Russian Kuban to Denmark, Norway, Sweden, as well as Finland and Germany.

The issue of purchasing Russian wine by the local state monopoly has been worked out with Finland. The state monopolies also control the alcohol market in Norway and Sweden.

Russian winemakers are preparing for the ProWein exhibition, which will take place in 2022 in Dusseldorf. The exhibition is the main way to bring Russian wines to the European market.

It is also reported that Kuban winemakers will continue to work with China, since the Chinese market is the largest in the world, and "they are absolutely open to buying Kuban wine." This was emphasized by Mayorov in an interview with TASS.

In October 2019, the Krasnodar Territory held negotiations on the supply of wine with the Finnish state monopoly; in March 2020, the Russian trade mission in Finland held an event at which Kuban wineries presented their wines in Helsinki.
