OREANDA-NEWS The Italian brand of household appliances Candy, owned by the Chinese manufacturer Haier, continues its work in Russia, the sale of goods is going on as before, the press service of the brand told RIA Novosti.

Earlier on Monday, the Kommersant newspaper, citing a source in the market, reported that the manufacturer of household appliances Haier decided to liquidate the Russian legal entity of the Candy brand owned by it. It was noted that the revenue of "Kandy S.N.G." after the start of the military operation in Ukraine began to fall, since the volume of production of equipment at the Kirov plant was calculated, including for the European market.

"At the moment, the Candy brand continues to exist in Russia, the sale of goods and support continue as before," the company said.

The products of both brands are in high demand in the domestic market. So, in May, RIA Novosti got acquainted with the study of the group "M.Video-Eldorado", according to which at the beginning of 2023 Haier became the leader in unit sales of refrigerators and washing machines, being in second place a year earlier. Candy has also strengthened its position in household appliances.
