OREANDA-NEWS  Russia and India have the potential to increase bilateral trade in agricultural products, the Rosselkhoznadzor believes.

As reported in the press release of the service, the prospects for its implementation were discussed at the talks between the head of the Rosselkhoznadzor, Sergei Dankvert, and the Secretary of the Department of Trade of the Ministry of Trade and Industry of India, Sunil Bartwal, on Thursday in Moscow.

In particular, they discussed mutual supplies of fish products, as well as the import of buffalo meat from India to Russia.

According to the report, Bartval expressed interest in increasing the volume of buffalo meat supplied.

In turn, the head of the Russian service expressed concern about the long-term approval by the Indian side of veterinary certificates for the export of fish products from the Russian Federation to India, he also confirmed the readiness to conduct inspections of Indian fishing enterprises interested in supplies to the Russian Federation. At the same time, Dankvert explained that the inclusion of such companies in the register of suppliers to the EAEU countries is possible only after an appropriate inspection.

In conclusion, the parties noted the need to establish effective communication between the competent authorities of the countries and give impetus to mutual trade.
