"We expect that the revenue in Russia in 2018 will be around $30 million, given the fact that we are engaged in the creation of infrastructure, sales, logistics, service and so on," said Lavie, noting that one of the factors of high revenue will be sponsorship within the world Cup.
Lavie noted that the world Cup also influenced the company's revenue in Europe. According to this information, from January to July, Hisense revenue compared to the same period in 2017 showed an increase of 31%. At the same time, the representative of the company did not disclose the absolute figures for revenue for the specified period.
The main products of the Chinese company in the Russian market are TVs, refrigerators and air conditioners.
Despite the fact that Hisense is actively developing the production and sale of mobile devices, smartphones are not currently represented in Russia. Deputy General Director of Hisense Russia reported that the company intends to enter the smartphone market in 2019.
"In Russia, we decided that the launch of the smartphone will begin later, because it is a very competitive market. On the one hand, consumers in Russia perceive Chinese brands more positively than in other countries. On the other hand, some other Chinese brands are already penetrating the Russian market," Lavi notes.
At the same time, the company is already discussing the possibility of cooperation in the sale of mobile devices with major Russian retailers, while some of them already have preliminary agreements.
