OREANDA-NEWS. The Greek Ministry of Tourism has presented a safe launch plan for the 2021 season, Russia is named among the priority markets. ATOR reports about it.

Tourism Minister Haris Theocharis, in several interviews with foreign media, confirmed that the start of the season is scheduled for May 14 with all the states from which travelers traditionally came to Greece. At the same time, for Europe and some markets with a high level of vaccination, the country may open as early as mid-April.

He stressed that Greece will provide guests with a safe entry and stay thanks to the "five lines of defense". According to him, the first is the conditions of arrival: a certificate confirming that the tourist has been vaccinated against coronavirus or recovered from COVID-19, or a negative PCR test result. The second involves sampling surveys upon arrival.

The third "line of defense" is the immediate quarantine of guests in the event of a positive test result.

The fourth is the general rules of epidemiological safety, for example, the mandatory wearing of a mask, adherence to antique protocols when visiting restaurants, excursions.

Well, the fifth "line of defense" is that all foreign tourists must follow the same safety rules as the Greeks themselves.

Greece hopes for the active arrival of travelers from the markets traditionally included in the top ten. These are Germany, Great Britain, France, Italy, Russia, the USA and the Balkan countries.
