OREANDA-NEWS  From 2010 to 2021, as part of the import substitution strategy in Russia, the share of foreign food products decreased significantly, although more foreign non-food products appeared. The success of the 11-year program was evaluated by analysts of the InfoLine agency, Forbes reports.

In the total volume, the share of imports of retail food products decreased by 10 percent. Most of the foreign food and beverages in 2021 were supplied from the EU countries (44 percent) and the EAEU (28 percent). As part of the program, it was possible to completely replace pork — from 2010 to 2021, the share of imports here decreased from 47 percent to zero. Poultry and vegetables have also become more produced in Russia, the share of imports of which has decreased since 2019 from 18 to 5 percent and from 50 to 15 percent, respectively.
