Doctors ay about the Risk of Infection with Hepatitis in Beauty Salons
OREANDA-NEWS. In beauty salons during manicure, body piercing and tatoo there is a risk of contracting hepatitis B and C. Svetlana Smetanina, chief freelance specialist on infectious diseases in the metropolitan health department, told Moscow news agency on the eve of World Hepatitis Day on July 28.
When carrying out such procedures as nail care, tattooing, tattoos, ear piercing, it is likely to get hepatitis. We are talking about transmitting the virus through instruments that have not undergone the necessary sterilization. For example, if during the procedure the client, the carrier of the virus, had a microtrauma and blood appeared, then without special treatment it is likely that the infection will pass to another client through this tool.
It is worth paying attention that water and disinfectants do not kill the hepatitis viruses. Reusable instruments must be sterilized in a sealed Kraft bag in an autoclave for 30 minutes or in a dry oven at 160 degrees for 60 minutes.
Smetanina added that many infected people simply do not know about their illness and can infect others without even knowing it. In this regard, the expert gave advice before the procedure to check whether the tools used by the master are sterilized. In addition, he must be disposable gloves.
