OREANDA-NEWS. The high cost of tours is a limiting factor in the development of tourism in Kamchatka; the Cabinet of Ministers sets a goal to reduce the cost of the trip by three times. This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko.

He reported on this issue to the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin: "The global, key constraining factor for the development of mass tourism in Kamchatka is logistical restrictions. In this regard, the high cost of tours. Communicating with citizens, we learned that, for example, only 20% of residents. We were on the Valley of Geysers. We are now focusing on the development of small aircraft, which is much cheaper to operate than helicopters, but gives a good effect, not only for tourism, but also for the development of the region as a whole, and just for the convenience of residents. "

"There will be an opportunity to cut the cost of the trip three times - this is the goal we set for ourselves, before the leadership of the region," Chernyshenko stressed.

As the Deputy Prime Minister noted, the existing airfields of Kamchatka need modernization for light aviation.

"Three of the approximately 30 planned airports will be operational this year. If there is support from the Federal Air Transport Agency, we will contact you," he said.

According to Chernyshenko, not only state, but also private investments will be involved for this purpose.

He added that through the tools of the national project, the government intends to build up the infrastructure for living in the region in order to attract professional personnel to the region.
