OREANDA-NEWS. Turkey's Antalya is experiencing a boom in property prices due to demand from foreigners. This was told to TASS by the head of the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIA) Davut Cetin.
“We have a real boom in prices in the real estate market, mainly because of the demand for it among foreigners. In terms of housing price growth, we bypassed Istanbul, which is traditionally considered the most expensive city in Turkey,” Cetin said.
According to him, the hype around primary real estate and housing for rent began during the pandemic. In 2021, market prices exceeded the standard ones by 210-220%.
The head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry did not dare to make a price forecast for 2022. “It is difficult to make a forecast for the end of this year if the situation develops as it is now,” he said.
However, Cetin said that this year the peak of rental prices in Antalya coincided with the start of events in Ukraine. Foreigners also pay $2,000 per month in cash for rent. The money is brought in a goal in advance.
At the end of April, the head of the Federal Agency for Tourism, Zarina Doguzova, announced an increase in the number of flights from Russia to Turkey to 290 per week.
