OREANDA-NEWS. In Cuba, from July 15, the sanitary requirements for citizens arriving in the country will be changed. ATOR reports about it.

The COVID-19 situation in Cuba remains tense. According to the Ministry of Health, more than six thousand new cases of coronavirus infection have been recorded in recent days. Cuba is still unable to cope with the coronavirus pandemic, while the authorities are doing everything possible to restore tourist flow under current conditions. The country fears that this fact may serve as a pretext for tightening the rules in other states, the authorities of which may prohibit their citizens from going to Cuba.

In this regard, new measures are being introduced in relation to those who come from abroad, and they apply only to Cubans. A fourteen-day quarantine awaits them. In addition, on a flight arriving at the airports of Varadero and Cayo Coco, they are allowed to carry only one piece of baggage, the Cuban embassy in the Russian Federation said.

"For Russian tourists arriving at the airports of Varadero and Cayo Coco, the entry rules do not change. There is no quarantine on arrival for foreigners," said tourism advisor Juan Carlos Escalona.

Of the current restrictions for foreign tourists, there is a measure prohibiting their free movement outside the tourist areas of Varadero and Cayo Coco.
