Cuba will Cancel PCR Test for Tourists from November 15
OREANDA-NEWS. From November 15, for tourists arriving in Cuba, it is not necessary to present a PCR test, a vaccination certificate will be enough, since by this time 90% of the country's population will have been vaccinated, said Cuban leader Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez.
"From November 15, when more than 90% of the Cuban population will be vaccinated, our borders will gradually open, and sanitary and hygienic protocols for arriving passengers will be relaxed. Passengers will not be required to present a PCR test, a vaccination certificate is recognized," he said speaking online at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.
He added that Cuba is ready to create favorable and attractive conditions for tourists, and for this it is necessary to intensify the promotion of Cuba as a tourist destination.
In September, Cuba asked Russia to increase the number of flights to the island, allowing flights from more cities, according to the country's deputy tourism minister, Maria del Carmen Orellana.
Even then, she recalled that from November 15, Cuba plans to gradually remove entry restrictions imposed by the pandemic and open borders for foreigners so that travelers can visit more places, not just the resort of Varadero and Cayo Coco.
"The decrease in the number of COVID-19 cases and the increase in the number of vaccinated will allow the Russian authorities to open flights to other destinations in Cuba and from more Russian cities, we spoke with them so that they would provide more freedom in the number of flights," Orellana said.
“We are confident that this will be achieved and we will be able to receive more Russians who will be able to freely move around the country,” she added.
