OREANDA-NEWS The trade turnover between China and Russia in the first quarter amounted to $53.84 billion. This figure is 38.7% more than in the same period in 2022. The total volume of China's foreign trade decreased by 2.9% to $1.43 trillion. Trade with the United States fell by 13.1% to $161.59 billion.

The information is provided by the Main Customs Administration of the People's Republic of China. Exports from China to Russia amounted to $24.07 billion, which is 47.1% more than a year earlier. Imports from Russia increased to $29.77 billion (+32.6%).

In March, the volume of trade with Russia exceeded $20 billion. It has grown by 23% compared to February. China mainly imports oil, natural gas and coal from Russia, as well as copper, copper ore, wood, fuel and seafood. Smartphones, industrial and specialized equipment, toys, shoes, vehicles, air conditioners and computers account for a significant share of exports to the Russian Federation.

Total exports from China rose 0.5% to $821.83 billion. Imports decreased by 7.1% to $617.12 billion. Beijing exported products worth $115.23 billion (-17%) to the United States.
