China has increased apple exports to Russia to six-year highs

OREANDA-NEWS In February of this year, China increased exports of apples to Russia to six-year highs, and shipments of strawberries, exotic fruits, tomatoes and peppers reached record levels, RIA Novosti found out after examining data from the Chinese statistical service.
So, in February, Russia's imports of apples from China reached a maximum of 8.2 million dollars since January 2019. Their import volumes increased 1.6 times in a month and 1.7 times in a year.
In addition, shipments of Chinese strawberries and strawberries to Russia increased to a multi-year high: in February, they were imported for a maximum of $ 1.75 million since May 2022, which is 3.3 times more than a month earlier.
Shipments of exotic fruits and vegetables to Russia, such as guava, mangosteen and mango, have also increased to a maximum of 2.7 million dollars since June 2024. The increase since January was 1.7 times, and in annual terms - 35%.
In addition, citrus fruits ($14.5 million), processed fruits and nuts ($3.98 million), grapes ($3.88 million) and nuts ($1.4 million) accounted for a significant share of Russia's fruit imports from China. In total, Moscow bought fruits, berries and nuts for 42.9 million dollars, increasing imports by a third over the year and by 12% over the month.
