OREANDA-NEWS In October 2024, China bought $366.5 million worth of Russian aluminum. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the customs services of the People's Republic of China.

It is noted that we are talking about the maximum amount since the middle of winter. During the month, aluminum supplies by Russian companies increased by more than one and a half times, and by 7.5 percent over the year.

Earlier it was reported that India, on the contrary, began to buy less Russian aluminum. According to data for eight months of 2024, it purchased $32.7 million worth of this non-ferrous metal from the Russian Federation. Compared to the same period last year, the decrease is estimated at 34 percent.

At the same time, Russia was able to increase aluminum exports to South Korea by 20 percent. From January to June, this country purchased 154.9 thousand tons of Russian aluminum worth 372 million dollars. In monetary terms, exports increased by 1.2 times.

It is also known that 37 countries bought Russian aluminum in 2023. Greece, Bulgaria and Estonia have shown particularly high demand for it.
