OREANDA-NEWS   The State Standard of Belarus has banned the import and sale in stores of buckwheat fast-growing cereals produced by the Russian company Vega Engineering from Barnaul. This is reported by the portal "Products and Services of the Republic of Belarus".

The reason for this decision was non-compliance with the requirements of the technical regulations of the Customs Union "On food safety". The point is that the contents of the package did not correspond to what was written on it.

"The products were given an appearance and individual properties, but at the same time they cannot be identified as the products for which they are issued," the message says.

When checking, it turned out that the indicator "the digestibility of rapidly developing kernels and honey" was 29 minutes, while the norm was up to 25 minutes. Thus, the manufacturer provided false information about the name of the product, which automatically classifies it as dangerous.

By the end of last year, buckwheat kernels became one of the cheapest products in the country, it lost 8.5 percent in price. Against this background, in the spring, manufacturers warned that due to lower incomes, the area of crops would decrease, and the cost of the product would go up again.
