CH2M is pleased to announce that Dr. Samuel Jeyanayagam, CH2M vice president and senior principal technologist, has been recognized as a 2016 Water Environment Federation (WEF) Fellow for his distinguished accomplishments and contributions to the preservation and enhancement of the global water environment. WEF Fellows are recognized in various areas of expertise including, but not limited to design, education, operations, regulation, research, utility management and leadership.

"Dr. Jeyanayagam is a recognized leader within the wastewater industry, and we are extremely honored to have him represent CH2M and our global wastewater technology team with this prestigious recognition," said CH2M Global Water Business Group President Peter Nicol. "Dr. Jeyanayagam specializes in resource recovery technologies and nutrient removal and has been involved in leading several committees to establish the industry's best practices and guidelines for these types of technology solutions."

Dr. Jeyanayagam has been an active member in WEF for more than 30 years and has held a variety of leadership roles, including serving a 3-year term as Chair of the largest WEF committee, the Municipal Resource Recovery Design Committee, and guiding the development of programs and resources for the advancement of best design practices. Dr. Jeyanayagam has co-authored more than 26 WEF publications and written and presented more than 180 papers. As Task Force Chair, he led a group of industry leaders in the development of the recent Nutrient Roadmap. He also serves on the editorial board of the Water Environment Research and Water Environment & Technology journals.

Dr. Jeyanayagam is one of 15 outstanding professionals to accept this esteemed designation. Celebrating members' achievements, stature and contributions in professional segments served by WEF, the WEF Fellow Recognition Program identifies individuals with outstanding accomplishments who have made an impact in their field of expertise. Dr. Jeyanayagam will be recognized during WEFTEC®, WEF's 89th annual technical exhibition and conference being held September 24-28, at New Orleans Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
