OREANDA-NEWS. At the end of the first half of 2016 Skoda has set a new world sales record - 569 400 cars, which ensured the Czech brand the growth of 4.6%. In June, 98,880 customers around the world have become the owners of Skoda cars - it increased the sales of Czech car manufacturer by 4.4%. Record results were achieved thanks to the growth of car demand in Europe and China, as well as the recovery of sales in Russia. 

For six months of 2016 more than half of Skoda vehicles were sold in Western Europe - 242 500 units (+ 7.5%). In Central Europe the buyers of brand were 96 300 people (+ 8.3%) and in Eastern Europe - 17 000 units (+ 6.5%).

In the Chinese market the results of sales of this half-year exceeded the previous year by 5.4%. From January to June of 2016 Chinese motorists bought 145,800 Skoda cars.

In the Russian car market dealers of Skoda have sold almost 4800 cars in June of 2016 – more by 9% compared to the same period of the last year. But, by the results of half of year the car sales of Skoda showed a negative trend (-4% up to 26 900 units).
