OREANDA-NEWS. Sales of passenger cars in Europe increased by 6.5% up to 1 million 507 thousand 303 vehicles in June. As the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) noted, the June result approached the pre-crisis level of 2007 year. At the end of six months of 2016 sales of cars in Europe were 8 million 090 thousand 870 units – more by 9.1% than a year before.

As it was noted in the review of the European car market for the I half, which was prepared by the agency "AUTOSTAT", Volkswagen has sold the highest number of cars in the European Union among automakers - 909,470 vehicles (+ 0.7%).
