OREANDA-NEWS. June 08, 2016. Spirit Airlines has reached a tentative agreement with the International Association of Machinists (IAM), covering ramp service team members based at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). An interim agreement was reached in June of 2015 that covered wages, job security, and benefits.

Spirit Airlines and the IAM were committed to negotiating a mutually agreeable contract that addresses the needs and concerns of Spirit's ramp service team members and the airline. The ratification vote will take place during the week of June 20, 2016.

"I'm so pleased that we were able to reach an agreement with the IAM," said Jake Filene, Vice President of Airport Services for Spirit Airlines. "I want to thank the members of the IAM and Spirit Airlines negotiating committees for diligently representing the Spirit team members and understanding the importance of sustaining the airline. We look forward to the approval and ratification of the contract in the coming weeks."
