Igor Vayn to step down as CEO of Renaissance Capital. Anthony Simone becomes Acting CEO
OREANDA-NEWS. May 27, 2016. The board of directors of Renaissance Capital has approved Igor Vayn’s request to relieve him from his duties as CEO of Renaissance Capital. Anthony Simone, Chairman of the board of directors and CEO of RenCap Securities Inc. (New York) and CEO of Renaissance Capital Limited (London) has been appointed Acting CEO.
Igor Vayn has headed Renaissance Capital for three and a half years. In that time, Renaissance Capital completed a substantial reorganization of its business and became profitable despite the prolonged crisis in the global financial markets.
“We thank Igor Vayn for his effective work at the helm of Renaissance Capital. Under his leadership the company not only preserved its business in key markets, but returned to operational profitability in a very short period of time, laying the foundation for further growth as a leader in the investment banking segment for emerging and frontier markets. We wish Igor every success and good luck,” said Dmitry Razumov, CEO, ONEXIM Group.
“After twenty years of working in investment banking I have made the decision to take a pause in my career development. I am grateful to the board of directors and the top management of the company for their understanding and support. I wish everyone at Renaissance Capital great success and, in the short term, will be ready to provide any assistance required by the company to ensure a smooth transition for the effective management of Renaissance Capital and for relations with key clients and employees,” said Igor Vayn.
Anthony Simone has been with Renaissance Capital since 2008 and brings to the table over twenty years of experience in investment banking. He played an integral role in the deal whereby ONEXIM Group gained 100% of Renaissance Capital and has been on the board of directors ever since. In addition to his roles as CEO of the company’s London and New York entities, his current roles also include those of Chairman of Renaissance Capital Dubai and Co-head of the Equities division.
“Anthony is a superb leader and well known to our clients for his dedication and incomparable knowledge both of investment banking and of Renaissance Capital. He is an invaluable asset to the company and we welcome him to the new position of Acting CEO,” said Dmitry Razumov.
A special committee including representatives of the board of directors and top management of Renaissance Capital has been formed. The committee will head the search for a permanent CEO and present a candidate to the board of directors for approval.
