OREANDA-NEWS. Analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" conducted a study of the market of new passenger cars in the first quarter of 2016 and it made a rating of the most popular diesel models in St. Petersburg.

According to the study, the best-selling passenger car, equipped with a diesel engine, in the northern capital is the BMW X5 crossover, whose market volume in January - March was 97 units this year, which is more by 14.1% compared to the previous year. In the second place there is popular in Russia diesel SUV - Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, which was sold in the amount of 91 cars, by showing a fall of 13.3%. The third position of the ranking is occupied by Renault Duster, whose figure was 86 units (the growth 2.3 times).

The top-five of leaders is closed by Mitsubishi Pajero Sport (76 units) and Mercedes-Benz GL-Class (72 units), both models show the market growth (49% and 1.4%, respectively). The top-10 of St. Petersburg market of new diesel passenger cars in the first quarter of 2016 also included: Audi Q7 (70 units; + 105,9%), Hyundai Santa Fe (58 units; + 11,5%), BMW X6 ( 51 units; + 75,9%), Land Rover Range Rover Evoque (49 units; -12.5%) and Mercedes-Benz C-Class (49 units; + 88.5%).
