OREANDA-NEWS. Analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" conducted a study of the Russian market, which covered the sale of new cars equipped with automatic transmission.

According to the study, in the first quarter of 2016 the market share of such cars in Russia was 52.7%. Thus, at first the sale of passenger cars with automatic transmission has surpassed sales of cars with manual transmission.

Recall that the highest rate of market share of cars with automatic transmission in our country was recorded in 2014 (49.1%), and before that it was constantly growing. But by the end of 2015 the share of sales of cars with automatic transmission has dropped up to 48.3%.

According to the director of the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT", Sergey Tselikov, the market share growth of cars with automatic transmission, is explained mainly by the increase of the sales share of such vehicles among the brands that are leaders in the Russian market, first of all, LADA, KIA and Hyundai.
