OREANDA-NEWS. Analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" conducted a study of the Russian market of new passenger cars in the first quarter of 2016 and it made a rating of the most popular models in the Central Federal District.

According to the study, the best-selling car in the subjects of the Central Federal District is Hyundai Solaris, the total market volume of which is 6900 units, which is more by 2.1% compared to the first quarter of 2015. In second place there is another Korean bestseller - KIA Rio, which was sold in amount of 6379, by showing an increase of 41.2%. The third position belongs to Renault Duster crossover with the result of 3572 units (+ 64.8%). Just a little bit behind it there is LADA Granta (3522 units; -37.8%), which ranks the fourth in the rankings. Toyota RAV4, with virtually the same results (2662 units) and Volkswagen Polo (2659 units) follows the next. The sales of them grew by 70.6% and 17.1%, respectively. The top-10 also included: Renault Logan (2349 units; -14,6%), LADA Largus (2338 units; + 0.9%), and two Skoda models - Rapid (2284 units; + 29.2% ) and Octavia (2140 units; -2.1%).

We should also note that in the first quarter of 2016 the market for new passenger cars in the Central Federal District in total was 101.2 thousand units, by showing a decline by 2.4%.
