OREANDA-NEWS   Ukrainian security forces detained 10 flight attendants of one of the local airlines, who established a scheme for illegal transportation of Apple equipment worth hundreds of thousands of dollars to the country. This is reported by Interfax-Ukraine with reference to the State Border Service of the republic.

According to the ministry, the guides repeatedly bought large batches of smartphones, tablets, headphones and chargers of the latest models abroad, and upon arrival at home they secretly took them out of planes, disguising them under the guise of cases with food, garbage and personal belongings. After that, they sold the equipment at a price below the market.

On September 24, the smugglers were detained at Boryspil airport with 85 Apple devices, in particular, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone XS, iPhone XR, One Plus Nord, MacBook Pro. Experts estimated this batch at 100 thousand dollars. The initiation of a criminal case has not yet been reported. According to the relevant article, they can face up to seven years in prison.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Air Force intercepted its own An-2 aircraft over the Carpathian Mountains, the crew of which was illegally carrying a large batch of cigarettes to Romania. The entire crew, consisting of Ukrainians, was detained, and the illegal goods were seized.
