Tech leaders say Trump would crush innovation
OREANDA-NEWS. July 15, 2016. "Trump would be a disaster for innovation."
That is the key message of an open letter published to Huffington Post and Medium on Thursday and endorsed by 145 tech leaders.
The letter states that presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump "stands against the open exchange of ideas, free movement of people, and productive engagement with the outside world that is critical to our economy -- and that provide the foundation for innovation and growth."
From there, the letter details how Trump's proposed policies on immigration, strategies for security and "disregard for our legal and political institutions" would stifle American innovation.
Those endorsing the letter include Sun Microsystems co-founder Vinod Khosla, Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian and entrepreneur Robert Scoble.
