TOP-10 Russian regions on volume of the market of new cars in 2016
OREANDA-NEWS. Analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" conducted a study of the Russian market of new cars by the end of 2016, which resulted by the rating of the largest regional markets.
According to the survey, the leader of this ranking is traditionally Moscow, the share of which in the last year was 16% of the total market. In quantitative terms, it is 200.3 thousand units – less by 0.6% than in 2015. It was sold twice less of cars in the Moscow region (97.5 thousand units; -3.3%). The top-three is closed by St. Petersburg (85.6 thousand units), the market of which has grown by 3%.
Among the non-capital subjects of the Russian Federation the leader is Tatarstan (59.4 thousand units; -3.7%), which finished the fourth in the overall standings. The top-five of leaders also included Krasnodar region (48.7 thousand units; -1.3%). The top-10 of regions also included: Samara Region (44 thousand units; -4.1%), Bashkortostan Region (43.7 thousand units; + 4.6%), Rostov Region (35.3 thousand units; -3.6%), Sverdlovsk Region (33.9 thousand units; -6.3%) and Nizhny Novgorod Region (31.2 thousand units; -6.3%). It is worth noting that the listed top-ten of leading regions have over half (54%) of the Russian market. Indicators of each of the remaining regions are less than 30 thousand sold units.
Overall, the market of new cars in Russia in 2016 was 1.26 million units – less by 4% than a year before.
