KLM responds to demands from cabin crew unions
OREANDA-NEWS. October 10, 2016. KLM cannot meet the demands expressed by the unions FNV Cabin and VNC with regard to the “minus one CA measure”. KLM is of this opinion that this would be irresponsible under the current circumstances. Furthermore, KLM has consistently been open to consultation with the unions for cabin crew. The unions repeatedly refused to accept this invitation. KLM prefers to arrive at agreements in consultation with employee representatives. Regrettably, this has proved to be impossible in this case.
KLM would like to stress that it was compelled to adopt the “minus one CA measure” aboard the B777-200, A330-300 and B787, because the cabin unions were unwilling to consult on the issue of KLM’s future vision and required productivity measures. In the interests of continuity and health growth, KLM was therefore compelled to take this measure.
KLM remains open to negotiations and calls on the cabin crew unions to engage in consultation.
