OREANDA-NEWS. July 21, 2016. Convergys Corporation (NYSE: CVG), a global leader in customer management, announced that it will add 200 new jobs at its contact center in Laredo, Texas. Convergys Laredo has secured a new line of business in the healthcare industry and is offering state licensing training to interested applicants.

Interested candidates are invited to attend the job fair on Monday, August 1, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 2451 Monarch Drive, Laredo Texas 78045. Radio station Hot 106.1 will broadcast live from the event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

“These healthcare positions are unique in that they require a valid state life and health insurance license.  For those who do not have a license, Convergys will provide any selected applicants with free training classes to pass the state health and life insurance exam," said Michael Tufts, site director for the Convergys contact center in Laredo. .  “Those who pass the exam will then be eligible for a licensed healthcare position. We are excited to fill these openings, which are not only terrific positions; they are also great stepping stones to a career in operations, recruitment, or training."

Through the Convergys Community Action Network (CAN), Convergys supports philanthropic initiatives in the communities in which employees live and work. In Laredo, Convergys CAN volunteers have supported the Boys and Girls Club of Laredo, Habitat for Humanity, March of Dimes, Salvation Army “Angel Tree” and Bethany House.  During the 10 years that Convergys has operated in Laredo, it has provided more than \\$5 million dollars in tuition reimbursement to employees pursuing a higher education.
