OREANDA-NEWS. August 15, 2016. ADMA Biologics, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADMA), a late-stage biopharmaceutical company that develops, manufactures, and intends to commercialize specialty plasma-based biologics for the proposed treatment of immune deficiencies and prevention of certain infectious diseases, today announced its financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2016.

“We are working with our third-party vendors and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to progress towards an approval of our Biologics License Application for our lead product candidate, RI-002, while also continuing to move forward with commercialization and pre-launch activities,” stated Adam Grossman, President and CEO of ADMA Biologics, Inc.  “During the second quarter, we generated increased revenues over last year’s second quarter from our plasma collection centers and strengthened our balance sheet through a \\$14.1 million secondary common stock offering and additional debt financing of \\$4.0 million.”

Financial Results for the Second Quarter Ended 2016

At June 30, 2016, ADMA had cash, cash equivalents and short-term investments of \\$23.8 million, as compared to \\$16.8 million at December 31, 2015.

The consolidated net loss for the second quarter ended June 30, 2016 was \\$6.0 million, or \\$(0.50) per share, as compared to a consolidated net loss of \\$4.7 million, or (\\$0.44) per share, for the second quarter ended June 30, 2015.  We had revenues of \\$2.3 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 2016 compared to \\$1.3 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 2015, which represents approximately 77% revenue growth quarter-over-quarter.  This growth was primarily driven by revenues generated by our second plasma center, which received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval in the third quarter of 2015. The quarter-over-quarter net loss increased by \\$1.3 million, which is primarily attributable to an increase in operating expenses of \\$2.9 million, offset by an increase in revenues of \\$1.0 million and a decrease in other expense of \\$0.6 million.  The increase in operating expenses is primarily attributable to increased research and development expenses for RI-002, due to higher validation, testing and production costs and regulatory consulting services related to our Biologics License Application submitted to the FDA for RI-002.  Operating expenses also increased due to higher plasma center operating expenses related to our second plasma center receiving FDA approval in the third quarter of 2015 and increased general and administrative costs associated with pre-launch commercial planning activities for RI-002’s anticipated launch.  The decrease in other expense is related to a loss on extinguishment of debt recorded in the second quarter of 2015.  Included in the net loss for the quarter ended June 30, 2016 were non-cash expenses of \\$0.3 million for stock based compensation and \\$0.3 million for depreciation and amortization.
