OREANDA-NEWS. The use of US strategic oil reserves is a gesture of desperation, Americanist political scientist Malek Dudakov told Tsargrad. In his opinion, President Joe Biden has no other way to deal with the fuel crisis.

We saw Biden's chaotic attempt to negotiate with the Persian Gulf countries so that they would increase oil production, they did not agree to this, Dudakov said.

He added that some country representatives did not even return Biden's calls. The political scientist specifically noted the Iranian nuclear deal, which could help increase oil supplies, but has so far been suspended.

At the same time, in the first year of Biden as president, the country's oil reserves decreased by about 100 million barrels, and in the second there will be an attempt to pour another 180 million into the market, Dudakov noted. The oil reserves will decrease by almost two times.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden said that the United States would release one million barrels of strategic reserves daily for six months due to a shortage in the domestic market. The American leader expressed hope that the country will be able to increase domestic oil production by the end of this year.

In turn, American political scientist Malek Dudakov said that Biden is not the worst US president. In his opinion, one of the main problems of Biden's policy is the lack of understanding of how to get out of crises. In the remaining three years of his reign, the situation may change.
