OREANDA-NEWS. The United States should push Russia and China out of their nuclear technology markets and become the world leader in this sphere. This is announced by the US Department of Energy in a strategy published on its official website on April 24.

According to the document, the US government should enter the markets that are currently dominated by state-owned companies of Russia and China, and restore the position of the USA as a world leader in exporting the best nuclear energy technologies, as well as stringent non-proliferation standards.

The Department proposes to prevent the establishment of strong relations between Russia and China with East European and African states, as well as to vest the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission with a right to refuse to import nuclear fuel produced by Russian and Chinese companies.
