OREANDA-NEWS. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the «Nord Stream-2» gas pipeline will be completed and will start working in a few days. His words are transmitted by Russian media «Interfax». «It will be completed in a few days, it will start working», Lavrov said.

Rainer Seele, the former head of the Austrian oil company OMV, also spoke about the imminent completion of the construction. At the same time, he noted that the commissioning of the gas pipeline does not exclude the continuation of transit through the territory of Ukraine. The former head of OMV explained that when planning a project, a forecast of the volume of work and prices is made, and «a certain buffer, unforeseen expenses» is additionally laid.

«The result is a certain value. And in the case of «Nord Stream 2 AG» — the same €950 million», said Seele. However, in the process of working on the gas pipeline, the operator «received better prices than planned», and as a result, the cost of the project turned out to be lower.

Earlier, Lavrov said that the United States understands that it is impossible to stop the «Nord Stream-2».
