OREANDA-NEWS The Italian oil company Eni began to supply oil from Kazakhstan via the Russian Druzhba pipeline. This is reported by the Vedomosti newspaper with reference to sources.
The supply of raw materials to Germany is carried out by the Kazakh "daughter" of Eni, "Agip Caspian Sea" (Agip Caspian Sea). In June, it delivered about 20 thousand tons of oil through the territory of Russia. Agip Caspian Sea has become the third company from Kazakhstan to export oil to Germany through Friendship after Karachaganak Petroleum Operating and Inpex North Caspian Sea, a subsidiary of Japanese Inpex.
In addition to pumping through the pipeline, Agip Caspian Sea also transports oil by sea: from January to June, it shipped 40.5 thousand tons through Novorossiysk and another 50.5 thousand tons of oil through Ust-Luga.
The Italian company owns 100 percent of Agip Caspian Sea. In the North Caspian project, which includes the development of the Kashagan field on the Caspian shelf, it owns 16.81 percent. In addition to Eni, the project is being handled by the "daughters" of British-Dutch Shell, American ExxonMobil and French TotalEnergies (16.81 percent each), Chinese CNPC (8.33 percent), Japanese Inpex (7.56 percent) and Kazakh Kazmunaigas (16.87 percent).
Two refineries in Germany, as well as plants in Poland, are connected to the northern branch of Druzhba, and enterprises in Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic are connected to the southern branch. This pipeline is convenient for European buyers, as the raw materials entering the system from different suppliers are mixed into a homogeneous export grade.
