The article notes that the indicators are at record levels, and the price increase supports the ban adopted in the spring by the American authorities on the supply of Russian enriched uranium to the United States. At the same time, in May alone, the United States purchased more than 91 tons of uranium from the Russian Federation for $ 209.5 million, which was the highest in more than a year.

American Centrus Energy, which does not have its own centrifuges, has received permission from the US Department of Energy to purchase uranium from Rosatom for this and next years for American nuclear power plants. The company admits that it will not be able to do without supplies from the Russian Federation at least until the end of 2027, the deadline indicated in the document, the journalists point out.

In March, Kirill Komarov, Deputy General Director, Director of the Rosatom Development and International Business Unit, said that uranium prices had increased several times over the year and reached $150-160 per unit of separation of enriched uranium.
