OREANDA-NEWS. The construction of the с gas pipeline has been completed. This was reported by the Russian news agency TASS with reference to a source.

It is noted that the Bulgarian section of the pipeline was connected to the infrastructure of Serbia. Journalists’ interlocutor pointed out that there are no official events on the occasion of the completion of construction due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, he did not rule out that the ceremony may take place later.

The Balkan Stream is a branch of the pipeline TurkStream. Its construction began in September 2019.

The TurkStream project involves the construction of two pipelines from Russia through the Black Sea to Turkey. The capacity of each will be about 15.75 billion cubic meters per year. The first line is intended for gas supplies to Turkish consumers, and the second to the countries of Southern and Southeast Europe, in particular, through Bulgaria to Serbia and Hungary.
