OREANDA-NEWS By the end of 2023, the total volume of supplies of liquefied petroleum gases (LPG, a mixture of propane and butane) from Russia to Asia soared 1.8 times compared to 2022 and reached the level of 1.26 million tons. This is reported by the Vedomosti newspaper with reference to data from the Petromarket research group.
Among other things, we are talking about increasing the supply of LPG to Turkey. Last year, Russian exporters sent a total of 543 thousand tons to this country (an increase of 1.9 times to the level of 2022). Despite the sharp increase in the volume of supplies of this type of fuel from Russia to Asian countries, the main share of exports still falls on European countries.
Exports in this direction amounted to 2.32 million tons at the end of last year. At the same time, the volume of supplies to the EU decreased by 16.5 percent year-on-year in 12 months, experts said. At the same time, they did not disclose the change in the geography of exports in the European direction in the context of individual countries.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak announced a sharp increase in the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russia to the EU. According to him, by the end of 2023, domestic exporters increased LNG exports in this direction by 38 percent compared to 2021.
