Shell Withdrew from a Deal with Gazprom Neft to Develop Fields in Western Siberia
OREANDA-NEWS. The website of the Russian company Gazprom Neft reports that British-Dutch corporation Royal Dutch Shell will not complete the deal to create a joint venture based on Meretoyakhaneftegaz Ltd. It is specified that the decision was made in connection with the negative impact of external factors.
The companies signed an agreement on the creation of a joint venture at the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum in June 2018.
Thus, the Russian company will independently continue to develop fields located in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, which were previously included in the sphere of activities of the newly created enterprise.
At the same time, Shell will continue to cooperate with a Russian partner, implementing already closed deals and future promising projects, the report of Gazprom Neft adds.
