OREANDA-NEWS. The Serbian part of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline will be completed by the end of the year. This was announced on Monday by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, during a meeting with Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko, a Russian media correspondent said.

Vucic said earlier that Serbia plans to triple the purchase of Russian gas: from 2 billion cubic meters to 6-7 billion, including through the Turkish Stream. Serbia began construction work on its section of the pipeline, without waiting for the completion of work on the Bulgarian section. The construction of a pipeline in Serbia from the border with Bulgaria to the border with Hungary is handled by a joint venture of Gazprom and Srbijagas - Gastrans d. o. o. Novi Sad. The Serbian section of the Turkish Stream will begin supplying gas by the end of April 2020.

It is assumed that the Serbian section of the Turkish Stream will begin near the city of Zajecar on the border with Bulgaria and cross the border with Hungary near the city of Khorgos. The input capacity is expected to be about 13.88 million cubic meters of gas per day, the output - about 10 million cubic meters.
