Saudi Arabian Energy Minister Says OPEC Countries Reach Consensus on Deal

OREANDA-NEWS. OPEC countries at a ministerial meeting on Thursday reached consensus on the fate of the deal to reduce oil production, but plan to continue negotiations from Friday. This was announced to reporters by the Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources of Saudi Arabia, Prince Abdel Aziz bin Salman, following the results of the meeting of OPEC ministers in Vienna.
“We have reached an agreement with all the OPEC members”, he said. “We always have an agreement among OPEC members”. He noted that the agreement reached on Thursday evening with OPEC ministers is to be discussed at a meeting with the ministers in OPEC+ format, which will be held on Friday. In general, he believes that the OPEC ministerial meeting was "absolutely successful".
At the same time, the parameters of the deal, which the OPEC ministers agreed at the meeting, Abdel Aziz bin Salman did not comment, noting that they are planned to be discussed at the OPEC+ meeting on Friday first.
