Russian «Rosneft» will Spend $1.8 Billion to Improve the Environmental Friendliness of the Oil Refineries
OREANDA-NEWS. The Russian company «Rosneft» announced, that it plans to allocate about $1.8 Billion until 2024 for more than one hundred environmental projects at it's refineries in order to reduce their negative impact on nature, minimize environmental risks and achieve the targets of the «Rosneft»-2022 strategy.
The company's environmental program includes six main areas: protection of atmospheric air, management of industrial waste, protection of surface and underground water bodies, measures to ensure legal requirements for the protection of the environment and land objects.
The Company has planned the reconstruction of biological treatment facilities at the Syzran Refinery, the Kuibyshev Refinery and the Ryazan Oil Refinery, as well as the reconstruction of mechanical treatment facilities at the Novokuibyshev Refinery and the Ryazan Oil Refinery.
In addition, the Kuibyshev Oil Refinery is planning to build a spent sulfuric acid recovery unit, and the Ryazan oil Refinery is planning to build a complex for thermal drying of precipitation. The Angarsk NHK is implementing a project to build it's own landfill for industrial and solid household waste. The construction of wastewater treatment facilities of the hydrocracking complex is being completed at the Achinsk Oil Refinery.
