OREANDA-NEWS Inter RAO Energy Holding has begun to partially restrict the export of electricity from Russia to China, while negotiations with China on the inclusion of export duties in the cost of supplies continue. A representative of the company told Interfax about this.

At the same time, similar negotiations to increase the price with Mongolia were successful, and the supply of electricity to this country was not limited, he noted. The holding also plans to appeal to the authorities with a request to exclude energy from the list of goods subject to the duty.

Inter RAO is the only electricity export/import operator in Russia.

Earlier, Inter RAO said that from October 1 they would raise prices for electricity supplies to countries outside the EAEU — the company was forced to take such a step due to the introduction of export duties of seven percent by the Russian authorities. Alexandra Panina, a representative of the holding, said about the possible suspension of exports to those buyers who do not agree to receive energy at new prices. Later, the company may also raise prices for Georgia and Turkey, but no exports are planned there in October.
