OREANDA-NEWS Within the framework of the WEF, Rushydro launched five automated hybrid energy complexes (AGEC) in Yakutia and the Kamchatka Territory with a total capacity of 5.4 MW, built using modern technologies based on renewable sources (RES) and energy storage systems, RIA Novosti correspondent reports from the ceremony.

"New energy complexes have been built in the Yakut villages of Topolinoe, Uritskoye, Daban and Saniyakhty, as well as in the Kamchatka village of Dolinovka. These settlements are isolated from the centralized power supply. In winter, the temperature in these areas drops below minus 50 degrees, so the reliability of energy supply is of particular importance here," the company said.

Each energy complex includes a highly efficient diesel power plant, a solar power plant and an energy storage system, which are combined by a single automated control system. As noted in the materials of Rushydro, the use of solar power plants and highly economical diesel generators can significantly reduce the volume of organic fuel imports, as well as reduce the impact on the environment.

It is planned that the consumption of expensive and complex diesel fuel delivered under a complex scheme will be reduced by at least a third.
According to the company, in general, AGEC using renewable energy sources is planned to be built in 73 settlements in Yakutia and seven in Kamchatka. At the same time, the total capacity of diesel power plants will exceed 90 MW, and renewable energy power plants will amount to about 30 MW.

The Eastern Economic Forum is taking place on September 3-6 on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok.
