OREANDA-NEWS. Rosneft was forced to reduce oil production from May 1 to July 15, 2019 by 1.7 million tons due to Transneft restrictions on the acceptance of oil into the trunk pipeline system. This is stated in the message of the oil company.
"During the period of limitation of oil intake into the Transneft trunk pipeline system (from May 1 to July 15, 2019), the company was forced to reduce production by 1.7 million tons of oil", Rosneft notes. Earlier, Rosneft proposed to include in the total amount of damage from pollution of the Druzhba pipeline losses from a forced reduction in production due to the ingress of substandard raw materials into the pipeline.
In early May, Reuters reported citing sources that Transneft asked oil companies to temporarily reduce production due to the suspension of export through Druzhba due to an incident with dirty oil entering the pipeline. In addition, in early July, Transneft limited the reception of oil from RN-Yugansneftegaz. Transneft explained the imposition of restrictions by the fact that Rosneft accumulated a large amount of unaddressed oil in the system, while Rosneft cited the filling of pipelines with surrogate oil as the reason.
The Druzhba oil pipeline provides oil supplies to Belarusian refineries and its transit to Europe. The oil pollution in Druzhba organochlorine, detected in April, led to the suspension of pumping of Russian oil to Ukraine, Poland, Germany, Hungary and Slovakia. Belarusian refineries were forced to reduce loading due to insufficient volume of clean oil. Pumping of clean oil from Russia to Belarus resumed in May.
Due to the decrease in production by Yuganskneftegaz, Russia by mid-July reduced oil production by 445 thousand compared to October 2018. barrels per day - up to 10.955 million bps, having exceeded the OPEC + deal almost twice, said an informed source in the Russian media.
