OREANDA-NEWS. Bloomberg agency reports with reference to the financial statements of the Singapore branch of the Russian oil company Rosneft that its subsidiary Rosneft Trading, registered in Switzerland, paid 250 million US dollars to unnamed consultant to “help secure deals” in Iraqi Kurdistan.
The consultant was to provide services related to the “proposed concession agreement” with the government of Iraqi Kurdistan. The documents say that remuneration was paid in 2017–2018. The condition for payment of this amount is “success” in negotiations.
Rosneft told the agency that all transactions are to be included in the consolidated statements of the parent company and subsidiaries. “In accordance with the requirements of the legislation, reports undergo all necessary checks (including checking whether information on completed transactions is provided in full, whether transactions comply with market conditions and whether they are economically viable),” the company noted.
The representative of the Ministry of Finance of the regional government of Kurdistan refused to comment.
