OREANDA-NEWS  Rosenergoatom turned on the first power unit of the Rostov NPP, which was turned off earlier due to a malfunction of the equipment, the company told reporters.

"The Rostov NPP included the N1 power unit into the grid as soon as possible. At 5:45 a.m. on July 17, the unit carries a full load of 1,000 megawatts," the message says.

As specified in the department of communications of the concern, the unit was turned off on Tuesday, July 16, "due to a false alarm of the generator protection." "The equipment has been checked, the unit is connected to the network as soon as possible," the concern noted.

The message clarifies that the block was connected to the network on July 16, at 22:28 Moscow time, and currently "it is already producing electricity necessary to restore energy supply in the region."

The power unit was turned off on Tuesday, July 16, at 15:21 Moscow time by "the action of automation", there were no violations of the safe operation of the stations, and now power units 1-4 are "operating normally" (the third is under repair since June 22 - IF), the REA clarifies.

As reported, on Tuesday, temporary schedules for limiting energy consumption were introduced in the south of Russia due to a malfunction of the generating equipment at the Rostov NPP.
