Philippines Interested in Cooperation with Russia in the Field of Energy
OREANDA-NEWS. The Philippine ambassador to the Russian Federation, Carlos Sorreta, during a conversation with Lyudmila Talabayeva, representative of the Federation Council Committee on Agrarian and Food Policy, said that his country wanted to cooperate with the Russian side in the field of energy.
“Today, we are in a state of negotiations with Russia so that coastal enterprises supply fish to the Philippines,” the ambassador said.
He also said that today the Philippines imports steel from Russia, which had never happened before, a large amount of Russian wheat and are interested in cooperation in the field of energy and tourism.
Earlier, Sorreta said that Manila is looking forward to holding a meeting between Philippine and Russian Presidents Rodrigo Duterte and Vladimir Putin before the end of the year.
In June, Igor Yushkov, a lecturer at the Financial University under the Government of Russia, and an expert of the Energy Security Fund, in an interview with FBA Economy Today, estimated relations between Russia and Slovakia in the field of energy.
