OREANDA-NEWS Finland has developed a bill that suggests temporary restrictions on gas imports. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the Ministry of Economy and Employment of this country of the European Union.
According to the agency's message, if the bill is passed, it will allow limiting the supply of natural gas and liquefied natural gas to the Finnish gas network if these energy sources come from Russia or Belarus.
At the end of November, it was reported that from January to September 2024, the volume of Russian-Finnish trade fell by 31 percent, to 960.6 million euros. Imports of Russian goods decreased by a quarter, while exports decreased by 1.7 times.
There is also evidence that Finland's foreign trade fell to a record 96 billion euros from January to August.
Earlier, Igor Yushkov, a leading analyst at the National Energy Security Fund, an expert and lecturer at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, said that stopping the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine would damage the European Union.
